Coalition for New Priorities records, 1982-1996.

Correspondence, research files, newsletters, meeting agendas and minutes, questionnaires, reports, mailing lists, flyers, pamphlets, clippings, and other records of the Coalition for New Priorities (CNP). CNP was an organization created by the Illinois SANE/Freeze group in 1989 with the mission of securing significant cuts in the federal government's military budget. Also present in this collection are materials from the SANE Nuclear Policy and the Nuclear Weapons Freeze Campaign as well as the Peace Conversion Commission, an official Chicago city agency created in 1992 to convert nuclear weapons' facilities to peace time use. Includes files belonging to Nancy Mayer.
